I'm honored to serve you in Topeka
I've been honored to serve as your representative in Topeka these past two years. We tackled some major challenges this past session, including a critical reversal of the Brownback tax experiment that resulted in unsustainable borrowing and massive deficits. We are now on the path to fiscal solvency and balanced budgets.
The focus on long-term solutions extends to school finance, as I made the tough votes necessary to secure and increase school funding so that we can adequately and equitably provide a quality education for every child and ensure districts like Blue Valley and Olathe can continue to innovate and provide world-class educational opportunities for our children.
I am grateful to the thousands of voters who communicated with me over the past two years via email, phone, social media, attendance at town halls, and via my survey seeking your input on legislative priorities. Together, we worked to bring common sense back to Topeka.
I'm energized to continue working on all of these issues and I will continue to strive to be as transparent and responsive as possible with the responsibility you've given me.
If you are not already subscribed, please sign up for my newsletter - "The Markley Minute" - to stay updated on the issues and key legislation we address throughout the session and drop me an email or text message to receive updates on the work I'm doing on your behalf.
I humbly ask for your vote once again as I face re-election in the August 7th Republican primary.
