I'm honored to serve you in Topeka
The voters of Overland Park and Olathe sent a resounding message this past November, seeking an end to business as usual in Topeka. We face many challenges in the 2017 legislative session, first and foremost: grappling with the revenue shortfall we face this year and passing real revenue reform so that we can resolve the projected $900 million shortfall we face next year.
The focus on long-term solutions extends to school finance, as we also create a new school finance formula so that we can adequately and equitably provide a quality education for every child and ensure districts like Blue Valley and Olathe can continue to innovate and provide world-class educational opportunities for our children.
I'm energized to go to work on all of these issues and will strive to be as transparent and responsive as possible with the responsibility you've given me.
